Double Cleanse
Double cleansing is cleaning your face twice starting with an oil cleanser followed by a water based cleanser. I double cleanse most day especially on days I apply makeup. There are several oil based cleanser available from drugstore to high end brands. I have tried several brands DHC, Tatcha, Bobbi Brown etc but lately I been favoring cleansing balms. My current faves are IT Bye Bye Makeup Cleansing Balm ($38, Sephora) or the Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm.
The IT Cleansing Balm is not only a makeup remover but also an anti-aging Serum. I take a little balm on my hands abs massage onto my dry face and then depending on my mood I wash with warm water or wipe with a damp wash cloth. I follow it by washing my face it the Purity it IT Confidence in a cleanser.
The Elemis Cleansing Balm ($64 Nordstrom’s) also does double duty by not only cleansing skin and nourishing and firming skin. It can also be used as a weekly face mask. Just apply to dry face and wipe off with a damp washcloth. Added bonus it smells divine.
I sometimes use Almond or coconut oil to remove and cleanse aswell but patch test as some people can breakout or have a reaction. ***Always patch test prior to using any product and consult a doctor for professional advice*** Follow me on:
