Time to make some corrections!!

Let’s talk about color correcting, it can up your makeup game.  If you have redness, uneven skin, dark spots or pigmentation color correcting can help you achieve an even base.  I personally deal with dark circles and dark pigmentation.  Using concealer alone is not a 100% effective.

I don’t color correct on a daily just when I am getting ready for a party. You may have seen all sorts of color corrector palettes available these days at the drugstore or beauty stores.    I use the following general guide:

Redness or hyperpigmentation: use yellow or green shades (for large area or rosacea).  It helps neutralize complexion and cancel out dark spots or redness.

Dark Spots and Circle: Peach and Orange shades under concealer can work wonders.  For deeper skin tones use darker peach or orange correctors.  That with the help of concealer will even out the under-eye area.  Beauty Hack: you can use red lipstick to color correct dark circles.

Dull Skin: purple tones or Pink tones help combat and brighten up dull skin. It can smooth out skin, hide unsightly pores and improve texture.

Tips:

Use a clean brushes, sponges or mini beauty blenders when using the different colors.  Using the same brush or sponge might mix the color and not color correct properly.

Also, color correcting is the first step on the routine after priming and before concealer and foundation.

Start light and build up as needed.  Beware at first it may look scary like Halloween makeup but don’t worry it will be ok in the end.

Some of my favorite products: Becca Backlight Color Corrector, Stila Correct and Perfect All-In-One Palette, Urban Decay Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid, NYX Professional Color Correcting Palette, Maybelline Face Studio Master Camouflage Palette, E.L.F Color Correcting Stick, L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Color Correcting Kit ………...

I could go on and on as most beauty brands have color correcting products. You don’t have to buy expensive palettes; drug store products work equally well.
