Neons

Not all trends are meant to be followed or need to be followed.  You should do what works best for you.  But once in a while a bold trend is just what you need to break out of your comfort zone.  Ok so neons are not a new trend but on trend right now and I am loving it.  I don’t normally do a lot of bright colors but decided to throw caution to the wind and try the Huda Beauty Neon Obsessions Palette in Neon Green.  I’ve now used it twice and here are my thoughts on the palette.  It has good pigment and color but due to my oily lids I have to use a primer otherwise it just melts away.  If I want to color to pop more I have to use a concealer or matte white shadow base and dampen the eyeshadow brush.  (Dampening the brush makes the eyeshadow pop more especially bright colors ..I use the Mac prep and prime spray to dampen my brushes).  The color has staying power unless dealing with over 100 degree hot humid weather (ughhh that is just so not pretty for hair or makeup). It’s $29 me available at Sephora. This line has 2 other  neon palettes. I’m looking forward to trying the Neon Orange soon.  I also have palettes from Colourpop I will be testing soon. They are easy on the wallet but let’s see how they fair with pigment, color and look....stay tuned.
